Weekly market features free concert series, other activities

The Farmers Market in Hershey offers locally grown produce, dairy products, and other specialty items every Thursday through October from 2:30 to 6:30 p.m. by the Cocoa Beanery off Bullfrog Valley Road, just off of the west side of the Penn State Hershey campus. The market features a free, weekly concert series from 6 to 8 p.m. This Thursday’s musical act is rising blues artist Danielle Miraglia. Next Thursday, Aug. 15, the Corty Byron Band will perform. The Aug. 22 concert will feature a performance by the unique rock-and-roll band, the Swaines, and eclectic singer-songwriter Kenny White will conclude the series on Aug. 29.

For those not into concerts, the market offers plenty of other health and wellness activities. This week, the market also offers a Harvest the Kids Garden event and features the Hershey Food Bank from 2:30 to 6:30 p.m. Next Thursday, Aug. 15, hosts a Manada Conservancy event from 2:30 to 6:30 p.m. answering the question of “Where does food come from?” Or, come back on Aug. 22 for the Dauphin County Library story time from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m., followed by a Healthy Back to School Snacks feature from 2:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Aug. 29.
