Phillips golf tourney benefits campus scholarship

The Lora Lee Phillips Foundation Trust will sponsor the eighth annual Kensington Financial Golf Classic, Saturday, June 4, at the Chestnut Ridge Golf Club in Blairsville. Proceeds from the event are earmarked for the Lora Lee Phillips Memorial Scholarship at Penn State New Kensington. The cost of the tournament is $125, which includes golf, dinner and chances to win $10,000 and trips to Germany and Acapulco. The Lora Lee Phillips Endowed Scholarship was established in 1992 by the Phillips family as a lasting tribute to their daughter and sister. At the time of her death, Lora Phillips was a sophomore at Penn State New Kensington. The scholarship provides financial assistance to students enrolled at Penn State New Kensington.
