Financial literacy webinars scheduled for Feb. 8 and 22

Webinars and events through the Sokolov-Miller Family Financial and Life Skills Center offered at no cost to the Penn State community

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The Sokolov-Miller Family Financial and Life Skills Center will offer noon webinars on credit cards on Feb. 8 and debt management on Feb. 22.

The noon webinar on Feb. 8 will cover advantages and disadvantages of credit cards, how to choose the right credit card, the content of a monthly billing statement, what makes up a FICO score and what is in a credit report. 

The Feb. 22 webinar will focus on how to recognize the symptoms of uncontrollable debt, planning to combat and manage a financial crisis, exploring options in debt management and avoiding debt settlement and elimination scams. 

Self-study modules for all webinars are available through “MoneyCounts: A Penn State Financial Literacy Series.”  

The  Sokolov-Miller Family Financial and Life Skills Center offers services to the entire Penn State community and is part of Penn State Undergraduate Education, the academic administrative unit that provides leadership and coordination for University-wide programs and initiatives in support of undergraduate teaching and learning at Penn State.
