Financial literacy webinars scheduled for May 17 and 31

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The Sokolov-Miller Family Financial and Life Skills Center will offer webinars on mortgages on May 17, and financial strategies geared toward women on May 31.  

A list of webinar series open to the public, including Zoom links, can be found at financialliteracy.psu.edu. All public webinars start at noon. 

The May 17 webinar will cover key mortgage terms, components of a mortgage, first-time homebuying and the search process, ways to improve your chance of getting a good mortgage and mortgage amortization schedules. This session will be co-presented by Sarah Metzger and Becky Moore, education program specialists with the Center. Moore will share her experience as a former real estate agent. 

The webinar geared toward women on May 31 will cover financial challenges specific to women including the pay gap, care giving, and career breaks, and financial literacy strategies they can take to cope with these challenges.

The Sokolov-Miller Family Financial and Life Skills Center offers services to the entire Penn State community and is part of Penn State Undergraduate Education.
