UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Undergraduate students from all majors and Penn State campuses can still apply for an Erickson Discovery Grant to fund summer 2022 research opportunities. The deadline to apply is Feb. 13.

“The Office of Undergraduate Education is eager to financially support undergraduates in pursuing student-led, faculty-directed research projects this summer,” said Alan Rieck, associate vice president and dean for Undergraduate Education. “We have funds specifically allocated for this purpose, so we encourage students who are interested in pursuing undergraduate research to apply.”

Erickson Discovery Grants provide $3,500 toward living expenses and project costs. Student projects of all kinds are welcome, from across all disciplines: the arts, engineering, humanities, business, communications, education, sciences and social sciences. Projects must be student designed and proposed and may or may not be related to the supervising faculty member’s research or scholarly interests.

Find more details and an application at the Undergraduate Research and Fellowships Mentoring (URFM) website. Up to 50 grants will be awarded for summer 2022.
