UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Fall 2021 classes are soon coming to an end and students will begin looking toward the spring 2022 semester, especially those who are nearing the end of their time at Penn State and must declare their intent to graduate in the spring.

Here are the key dates coming up for the remainder of the fall 2021 semester:

  • Dec. 10: withdrawal deadline and the end of classes
  • Dec. 11-12: study days
  • Dec. 13-17: final exams
  • Dec. 18: commencement

Students who intend to graduate in the spring 2022 semester must notify the University during the graduation intent filing period from Jan. 2-24. Undergraduate and graduate students can use the “Apply for Graduation” link from the “Degree Planning & Progress” page in LionPATH. If the activation period has passed, students who want to declare their intent to graduate must contact their appropriate college office for undergraduates or Graduate Enrollment Services. These offices can also be contacted to remove an intent to graduate.

Spring 2022 classes will begin Jan. 10. Undergraduate students are reminded about the changes to the credit limit policy that caps the number of credits an undergraduate can take to 24 credits in each semester. Students who want to exceed the recommended 15-19 credits and who meet the requirements will be able to add additional credits beginning the first day of classes. It is strongly recommended that students consult with their assigned academic adviser before adding additional credits.
