UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Students can now nominate advisers for the 2023 Penn State Excellence in Academic Advising Award.

The University-wide annual award recognizes excellence in undergraduate advising at Penn State and is sponsored by the University Advising Council and the Office of Undergraduate Education. The nomination form can be found at advising.psu.edu.

Now through Monday, Nov. 28, students at all campuses can nominate an excellent undergraduate adviser who has helped them navigate the University’s academic system, plan a fulfilling program of study, consider co-curricular experiences, and learn to manage their own educational journey at Penn State.

One award is given annually to a faculty member and one to a professional academic adviser. All current full-time University employees with undergraduate advising responsibilities and two years of advising experience at Penn State are eligible.

Advisers selected for the 2023 Excellence in Advising Award will be recognized by the University in the spring.

Questions can be directed to Kyrie Harding (kyrie@psu.edu), director of advising in the College of Arts and Architecture.

The 2022 recipients of the Excellence in Academic Advising Award were Renae McNair, assistant teaching professor of psychology at Penn State Scranton, and Karen Sofranko, director of academic services and retention at Penn State Hazleton.
