UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State undergraduates from any campus can take courses at one of the 20 residential campuses and World Campus during the summer.
This allows students who want to take on an internship or be with their families over the summer the flexibility to continue making progress on their degree or pursue a minor without altering their expected graduation date. It’s also an opportunity to get caught back up if a student has fallen behind.
In addition to instruction at residential campuses, there are a variety of course modes offered during summer 2024, including synchronous and asynchronous web courses.
“In addition to taking courses at their current campus, they can also choose courses at a campus closer to their home, or choose online courses from any campus, including World Campus,” said Kelly Griffith, director of the Office for Summer Session. “This allows us to serve students where they are and give them flexibility in their choices during Maymester and summer sessions.”
Find a schedule of summer 2024 courses in LionPATH and more detailed course descriptions in the University Bulletin. Instruction begins for Maymester courses on May 6, Summer Session I courses on May 13, and Summer Session II courses on June 26. Students can register for courses up until the day before classes start.
Scholarships are available to eligible students, at any Penn State campus, through the Office for Summer Session. Students can apply for $2,000 scholarship toward summer tuition if they have fallen behind in their degree progress and have demonstrated financial need. Apply now for a Summer Success Scholarship by April 19.
The Office for Summer Session is part of Penn State Undergraduate Education, the academic administrative unit that provides leadership and coordination for University-wide programs in support of undergraduate teaching and learning at Penn State.
