The free event is an opportunity for the local and Penn State communities to reminisce, relive and reconnect to all things Shaver’s Creek as it celebrates 50 years of inspiring discovery.

Held from noon to 9 p.m., the celebration includes nature walks, ice cream, a campfire and more. Registration is required and will be open until the day of the event or until capacity is reached. Visit the 50th Anniversary Celebration registration webpage to register.

Food vendors will be on site for snack and lunch options from noon till 4 p.m. An optional catered picnic dinner can be purchased during registration for $10 per person ($7 for kids ages 10 and under), thanks to support from Penn State Outreach. The optional dinner add-on will close on May 10.

Later in the evening, an ice cream social will feature Penn State Berkey Creamery’s special offering of Shaver’s Creek Bittersweet Mint. The flavor takeover to commemorate the center's anniversary is also available at the Creamery until October.

Throughout the day, there will be yard games and places to connect on the front lawn, live music in the amphitheater, wildlife programing, guided hikes and other activities on the grounds at various times.
