Andrew J. Bucher named ‘Student of the Month’ at Penn College

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. — Andrew J. Bucher, scheduled to graduate in May with an associate degree in heavy construction equipment technology: technician emphasis, has been selected as the March “Student of the Month” at Pennsylvania College of Technology.

Considered by his nominator as a high-quality candidate for the honor due to his dedication, involvement and impact on the Penn College campus and community, the Manheim resident “has always been passionate about getting involved on campus and being a role model for his peers.”

Bucher — who also holds an associate degree in automotive technology that was conferred in August 2016 — serves as a Student Government Association senator for the School of Transportation & Natural Resources Technologies and as president of the Penn College Motorsports Association.

“Through these two associations, Andrew reaches many students, hears their concerns, relates with them and takes great concern in accommodating their needs and wants,” his nominator continued. “(He) has helped develop his school, peers, friends and community through his incredible work ethic and dedication to helping others.”

Student of the Month recognition is bestowed by SGA numerous times each academic year based on nominees’ commitment, service, role-model behavior, academics, leadership and campus involvement.
