Klingerman Family Scholarship established at Penn College

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. — Daniel and Monica Klingerman have established an endowed scholarship at Pennsylvania College of Technology.

Daniel Klingerman is chairman and chief executive officer of The Liberty Group, a Williamsport-based development company that invests in, acquires, develops and manages commercial properties. He has been a member of the Penn College Foundation Board of Directors since 2005.

Initial award preferences for the Klingerman Family Scholarship are for first-year students who are graduates of the Loyalsock Township or the Bloomsburg Area school districts.

The scholarship is renewable, contingent upon demonstrated academic performance.

“Penn College is an integral part of our community,” Daniel Klingerman said. “Our family is honored to establish this endowed scholarship at Penn College to benefit students who have worked hard during their academic years with the intention of pursuing a college degree. I believe investing in education today is our most important gateway to the future. It is the one investment we can make that will have an everlasting impact on our society and our children's future.”

Penn College President Davie Jane Gilmour said of the couple, “Dan and Monica have demonstrated their commitment to the Williamsport community time and time again through their philanthropic activities, as well as the economic-development activities of The Liberty Group. We’re honored that they have continued that legacy here at Penn College through the establishment of this scholarship.”
