WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. — Laura A. Snyder, of Harrisburg, a landscape/plant production technology student at Pennsylvania College of Technology, was awarded a $4,500 Pennsylvania Landscape & Nursery Association Foundation Scholarship.

Snyder received her award at the PLNA 120th Anniversary Celebration & Education Summit, held recently at Longwood Gardens in Kennett Square.

Joining Snyder at the two-day event was Carl J. Bower Jr., assistant professor of horticulture at Penn College. They attended a variety of educational sessions, including many focused on native plants and sustainable landscape solutions.

“Laura is one of those students who is always looking to learn more,” Bower said. “I have a feeling that she would have attended this educational session even if she wasn’t coming away with a huge scholarship. I can’t think of anyone more deserving of this honor.”

Also attending the PLNA summit were a number of Penn College horticulture and landscape technology alumni who are engaged in the dynamic career field.
