Penn College names director of construction and planning

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. — Pennsylvania College of Technology has hired industry veteran Benjamin R. Thomas as its director of construction and planning.

Thomas comes to Penn College from Weis Markets Inc., where he was manager of architecture, responsible for the company’s conceptual and architectural designs.

Rissel, executive director of General Services at Penn College. “Coming to Penn College with over 20 years of experience in various aspects of the construction industry, Ben possesses the skills and experience to ensure our projects are planned and executed with precision, taking our construction and planning department to the next level.”

A Penn College alumnus, Thomas earned an associate degree in architectural technology in 1999.

In addition to Weis Markets, Thomas has worked for several companies throughout the state, serving in various roles, including environment health and safety manager, quality health safety security and environmental manager/engineer, associate project manager, and designer/building code official.

At Penn College, Thomas will provide on-site representation at college construction locations to monitor building and renovation projects. He’ll also oversee long-term maintenance of all building systems throughout the college.
