WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – The largest U.S.-based manufacturer of industry-leading drying, conveying and complete materials-handling systems for the plastics industry has extended its commitment to Pennsylvania College of Technology.

Novatec Inc. renewed its entrustment agreement with Penn College for equipment used in the school’s renowned polymer engineering program.

The two-year renewal includes a range of equipment, including a desiccant-free dryer, a micro blender, vacuum loaders, a feeder, a venturi loader for a blender and a NovaWheel dry/convey unit. The value of the entrusted equipment is about $50,000.

“We are very grateful to Novatec Inc. for their continued support of our polymer engineering technology program and students,” said Shanin L. Dougherty, corporate relations officer. “Their generous entrustment enhances our hands-on education through the use of advanced technology in our labs.”

Novatec’s entrustment agreement originated in 2010. The company is a member of the Visionary Society ($100,000-$499,999) on the college’s Donor Wall.

“Novatec is continually focused on the future of the plastics industry, and we fully recognize that high-quality, well-educated people are the key to that successful future,” said Tim Noggle, senior vice president of sales. “We’re extremely proud to be a partner in supporting the great work that Penn College is doing in preparing high-quality professionals for their future in plastics.”

Penn College is one of seven institutions nationwide offering plastics degrees that are accredited by the Engineering Technology Accreditation Commission of ABET. Students may seek a bachelor’s degree in polymer engineering technology or an associate degree in polymer technology.
