Penn College student chosen for ‘trades’ scholarship

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – A Pennsylvania College of Technology manufacturing student is one of four undergraduates nationwide to be awarded a “trades” scholarship.

Alec D. Rees, of Centerport, New York, received a $2,500 scholarship from Rock the Trades, a workforce development initiative that raises awareness of careers in the skilled trades by celebrating the American industrial worker.

Rock the Trades recently featured Rees on its website, detailing the freshman’s passion for working with his hands and dedication to pursuing a career in the skilled trades.  A Dean’s List student, Rees is seeking an associate degree in machine tool technology.
