UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — As previously announced in Penn State News, the Global Safety Network (GSN) will transition to a new platform as of Aug. 17. The GSN is currently unavailable during the transitional period.
During this transition time, Penn State Global Safety is hosting two "How-To" Webinars covering how to access the new GSN portal, create your profile, and navigate the system. The webinars will include approximately 30 minutes of instruction followed by 30 minutes of live Q&A. There are two opportunities to attend the webinar — at noon on Aug. 11 or Aug. 13.
A recorded version of the webinar will be made available to the community after the events are complete. Webinar attendance is encouraged, but not required to use the new GSN system.
The GSN is a required step in the international travel process for all Penn State students, faculty, staff or authorized volunteers, except for those traveling on education abroad programs.
The new system will be hosted by Via and is designed to provide a more intuitive and user-friendly experience. The upgrade is intended to streamline the travel documentation process for Penn State-affiliated travelers while also improving the efficiency of internal review and processing. As a result, users can expect a smoother experience and faster turnaround times.
