UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Tiesha Brunson has been named the director of marketing and communications for Penn State Law in University Park and the Penn State School of International Affairs (SIA), beginning Aug. 17.
“We are thrilled to welcome Tiesha Brunson as the Penn State Law and School of International Affairs Marketing and Communications Director,” said Hari Osofsky, dean of Penn State Law and SIA. “She brings a wealth of experience from higher education and television, and we are very excited about her vision for marketing and communications at both schools.”
Brunson joins Penn State Law and SIA from Georgian Court University, in Lakewood, New Jersey, where she was director of admissions communications and marketing, overseeing a creative team with a dotted line to University Marketing. She is also the founder of a popular mom lifestyle blog.
Prior to returning to the east coast, Brunson was director of on-air promotions at an ABC television network in Los Angeles, California, where she managed two award-winning teams, on both coasts, who wrote and produced promos for "The View," "All My Children," "One Life to Live," and "General Hospital." She started her own production company, Queens Consulting LLC, and wrote various promos for primetime television and proofread best-selling novels. She was also a writer/producer under Disney/ABC Television Group in Burbank, California, and a manager of on-air promotions at BET in Washington, D.C. Brunson began her career as a production assistant at HBO in New York City.
Brunson received a double bachelor of arts, cum laude, in mass communications and Spanish from King's College in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, and is currently working on her master's degree in integrative health.
At Penn State Law and the School of International Affairs, Brunson will serve as a member of both schools’ leadership teams and will lead her own team of marketing and communications professionals responsible for designing, planning, and executing the marketing initiatives for each school in support of their ambitious strategic plans.
