Engaged Scholarship Community of Practice to meet Nov. 20
9:30 AM - 10:30 AM / November 20, 2025
UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The next Engaged Scholarship Community of Practice session will be held on Zoom from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 20.
This session will feature Laura Cruz, a Fulbright specialist and research professor with the Schreyer Institute for Teaching Excellence at Penn State whose recent scholarship focuses on integrating high-impact practices into teaching and learning.
Cruz will discuss the role of IRBs in engaged scholarship in and out of the classroom and for publication.
Register here to receive the link for the session. A recording will also be available for those unable to attend.
This session will also count toward the Engaged Scholarship Provost Endorsement program. To learn more or to register for the fall online cohort (seats are limited), more information and a registration link are available at this link.
The Sustainable Communities Collaborative and Living Labs programs convene an Engaged Scholarship Community of Practice meeting twice each semester. Sessions are designed to meet the needs and interests of faculty who are doing — or are interested in doing — experiential learning in their courses, with their students, and/or as a research focus.
Topics include publication and funding opportunities, designing projects, assessment, engaging students, and more.
Faculty from all Penn State campuses are welcome to attend.
