Third annual Sustainability Summit to be held April 23

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Returning for the third year in a row, Penn State’s Sustainability Summit is slated to be the largest ever this April.

The summit serves as an end-of-academic-year celebration of sustainable progress, energizing Penn State and its communities for future action. A large-scale collaborative event presented by the University Park Undergraduate Association (UPUA), Penn State Sustainability, Eco Action, EcoReps, the Dr. Keiko Miwa Ross Student Farm, the Arboretum at Penn State, State College Borough, Centre Region Council of Governments and others, this year’s summit features an entire day of programming. 

All events are free and open to all. Attendees can join throughout the day for tabling and games, as well as in the evening for a meal, keynote speaker and film.

Wednesday, April 23, Summit Schedule

  • noon–3 p.m. — Activities and Games on HUB Lawn
  • 3–4 p.m. — Org Tabling in Alumni Hall
  • 4–5 p.m. — Climate Action Workshop in Alumni Hall
  • 5–6 p.m. — Keynote on Creating Social Change with author and professor Lisa Silvestri in Alumni Hall
  • 6–7 p.m. — Awards and Food in Alumni Hall
  • 7–8:30 p.m. — Film Screening and Q&A with advocate and artist Mohamed Sleiman Labat in Flex Theater
