UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Jelani Cobb, a staff writer for the New Yorker and a journalism professor at Columbia University, will talk about the controversy surrounding NFL players kneeling, the changing role of journalists and his memories of getting his first library card during the next episode of WPSU-FM’s “Take Note.”
The show will air at 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 1, and at 7 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 3. “Take Note” is WPSU’s weekly community affairs radio program that features in-depth interviews with central Pennsylvania and national newsmakers.
Cobb, who writes about race, politics, history and culture, won the 2015 Sidney Hillman Award for Opinion and Analysis Writing. His work has appeared in several publications, including the Washington Post, the New Republic, Essence, Vibe, the Progressive and TheRoot.com, and is the author of several books, including “The Substance of Hope: Barack Obama and the Paradox of Progress.”
