April 16 seminar to discuss free research recruitment tools

Bench to Bedside and Beyond Seminar Series is April 16

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — “Recruiting and Retention for Human Subjects Part 2: Free Recruitment Tools” will be presented at the next Penn State Clinical and Translational Science Institute Bench to Bedside and Beyond Seminar Series from noon to 1 p.m. on April 16.

This seminar will be held in 116 Henderson Building at University Park, and it will be teleconferenced to CG623 at the Penn State College of Medicine. A web conference also is available via Zoom. Register at bit.ly/B3April2018.

Ariana Winder, a research accrual specialist with both the Clinical and Translational Science Institute and the Penn State Cancer Institute, will discuss opportunities available through the Clinical and Translational Science Award and the Clinical and Translational Science Institute. Topics will include the National Institutes of Health plain language initiative; scoring a summary for readability; easy summary revisions to engage more participants; adding a study in CATS IRB; basics of using the university’s research search tool, Studyfinder; and an introduction to ResearchMatch.

Winder will present at University Park and be assisted at the College of Medicine by Sara Costalas, technical communications intern at the Clinical and Translational Science Institute.

The Bench to Bedside and Beyond Seminar Series is held to encourage an engaged translational science workforce while promoting a culture of continuous improvement in research conduct and practice at Penn State.
