Brawley to lead Penn State's Ben Franklin Center

University Park, Pa. -- Stephen Brawley, Penn State associate director and vice president of the Ben Franklin Technology Center of Central and Northern Pennsylvania (BFTC/CNP) Board of Directors, has been named director and president/CEO of the BFTC/CNP.

Brawley succeeds Vic Russo, BFTC/CNP director since 1997, who announced his intention to step down last year. As director/president/CEO, Brawley will focus on three key areas: providing vision and advancing the mission of the BFTC/CNP's program; mentoring and developing the staff; and enhancing and enriching the relationship between the Center and Penn State.

Brawley has served the Ben Franklin technology Center and Penn State within its Research and Technology Transfer Organization in the Office of the Vice President for Research for 15 years as the center's project director of training and new business; director of the south central regional office in Harrisburg; and, most recently, as associate director/vice president. He currently serves on several economic advisory boards within the commonwealth.

The Ben Franklin Technology Center of Central and Northern Pennsylvania Inc. is a subsidiary of The Corporation for Penn State. With support from the statewide Ben Franklin Partnership, the Center provides financial resources on a project basis to develop new or improved products or processes, create new jobs, retain existing jobs and attract investment capital to Pennsylvania-based companies.

Brawley's office is in suite 115 of the Technology Center in Innovation Park. To contact him, e-mail stevebrawley@cnp.benfranklin.org or call (814) 863-4559.
