UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The last decade has seen some of the worst fires and longest wildfire seasons in California history. What are the forces fueling the wildfires? Alan Taylor, professor of geography at Penn State, will discuss the climatic and human influences on fire in California forests at 11:15 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 24. The talk will be broadcast via Zoom.

Taylor’s talk is part of the Earth System Science Center’s spring 2021 Climate Dynamics seminar series. The series focuses on the cutting-edge climate research being conducted in the Earth and Environmental Systems Institute and the Climate Science dual-title graduate program in the College of Earth and Mineral Sciences at Penn State.
