Penn State Clinical and Translational Science Institute invested in Hobkirk’s work through its Bridges to Translation pilot grant program. This program provides funding for novel research ideas at Penn State to address health problems or make the research process more efficient. The program also promotes collaboration by encouraging scientists across specialties to work together. Hobkirk is also a member of Penn State Cancer Institute
