UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The office of the Associate Chief Information Officer for Research has created a new resource at RemoteResearch.psu.edu to support investigators as they transition their research to primarily off-site from primarily on-site.

Associate CIO for Research Greg Madden and his team created the site to help researchers understand their options related to remote work, remote operations, remote meetings and remote communications.

"We want to provide guidance to researchers to help them choose the best solution for their research programs and their teams, especially since the University often has several possibilities to choose from," Madden said. "For example, we have several options to move to cloud-based computational and storage services for those who have historically used on-site resources."

Madden noted that his team is also adding training events, including seminars on remote research.

The site provides remote options for computing infrastructure, storage, remote access to on-site labs, remote access to specialized software, digitization, project management, software development, training support, scheduling of facilities or research labs, and more.

RemoteResearch.psu.edu also has contact information for Penn State researchers who may need additional assistance.
