HERSHEY, Pa. — “Engaging Women’s Health Populations in Research” will be presented at the next Penn State Clinical and Translational Science Institute "Bench to Bedside and Beyond" Seminar Series from noon to 1 p.m. on May 15. A panel will discuss the topic. Currently confirmed speakers are Dr. Richard Legro, interim chair of obstetrics and gynecology, and Carol Weisman, distinguished professor of public health sciences, obstetrics and gynecology and health policy and administration.
The institute, working with subject-matter experts across the institution and throughout the community, provides researchers with access to special populations. Areas of expertise include childhood overweight/obesity, childhood trauma, women’s prenatal health, aging populations, military service members, veterans and their children/families, rural populations and unique patient populations, including nicotine addiction, infertility, ALS, Cystic Fibrosis, sleep disorders and end-of-life care.
