UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — A team from Penn State University Libraries knows that many Penn State football fans would welcome the chance to spend four quarters celebrating the Nittany Lions. Enter the hour-long "Libraries Trivia Night" on Zoom, kicking off at 4 p.m. Eastern time this Friday, May 1, on the Zoom video communications platform.
Hoped to be the first in a series of similar events, "Libraries Trivia Night: Penn State Football Edition" will be hosted by a surprise special guest reading trivia questions for live-streaming audience participants, who will submit answers via Zoom’s chat feature. Between questions, videos of 20th-century Nittany Lion football highlights will play, as selected by Sports Archivist Paul Dzyak from the University Libraries’ Eberly Family Special Collections team.
Participants are encouraged to dress in their most spirited blue-and-white attire and provide their own remote-tailgating refreshments. Event organizers from the Libraries’ Development and Alumni Relations team welcome participants to join the fun in the spirit of celebrating the Nittany Lions and kicking off the weekend early.
RSVP via the Libraries’ Facebook Event, which includes a post with instructions for those new to using Zoom and who may need to download and install the Zoom application, or join the event directly on Zoom.
The Penn State Sports Archive is part of the University Libraries’ Eberly Family Special Collections Library.
