UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The University Fellowships Office and University Libraries are continuing their series of events focused on helping undergraduates learn about and navigate the world of research opportunities at Penn State.

Events will be hosted at the University Park campus but some also will be available by Zoom.

On Feb. 3, “Exploring Undergraduate Research Options at Penn State” will cover how students can find and join an existing research group at Penn State and how they can start their own projects. The workshop starts at 5 p.m. in the Mann Assembly Room, Paterno Library. Register in advance at this link if attending by Zoom.

For students who are looking to begin an undergraduate research project or who are in the early stages of an experience, the Libraries’ workshop “How to Join the Scholarly Conversation,” at 5 p.m. Feb. 10 in 211A Pattee Library, will provide strategies, resources and activities to build foundational research skills. Participants will learn about disciplinarily differences and ways to learn more about their research interest, leveraging the resources provided by the Libraries.

The final February session, “Applying to the Undergraduate Exhibition,” will introduce students to Undergraduate Education’s yearly exhibition at the HUB-Robeson Center in April, as well as help students through the steps of applying.

Below is a full list of information sessions and workshops slated for the spring 2020 semester. If campuses are interested in the workshops that are not offered via Zoom, contact Hailley Fargo at hmf14@psu.edu or your local campus librarian to arrange a workshop.
