UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Science plays a crucial role in managing the risks associated with climate change, but so do the values held by communities, decision makers and researchers. The Science and Values in Climate Risk Management virtual seminar series will address the scientific and ethical sides of climate change research, policy analysis and the management of climate risks. The seminars take place at 4 p.m. on select Thursdays.

- Oct. 8 – Richard Bradley, professor of philosophy, London School of Economics and Political Science, “Making catastrophe insurance decisions when the science is uncertain”
- Oct. 22 – Kenneth Gillingham, associate professor of economics, Yale School of the Environment, “Welfare maximizing climate policy and the role of interregional redistribution”
- Nov. 5 – Dale Jamieson, professor of environmental studies and philosophy, New York University, “The misunderstood risks of climate change”
- Nov. 12 – Greg Lusk, assistant professor of philosophy, Michigan State University (topic to be announced)
