UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — WPSU Penn State’s interactive show, “Conversations LIVE,” makes its spring semester return when it addresses the state’s heroin crisis at 8 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 28. The show will air on WPSU-TV, WPSU-FM and online at wpsu.org/live.
Viewers can join the live discussion by calling 800-543-8242, emailing connect@wpsu.org or tweeting @WPSU using the hashtag #WPSUconversations. “Conversations LIVE” — hosted by WPSU Penn State senior producer Patty Satalia — welcomes guest experts and community involvement for an in-depth discussion on local and national issues. The show airs each month during the academic year.

According to the Pennsylvania Department of Health, more than 2,400 residents suffered drug-induced deaths during 2012 — the last year of recorded data.
State Sen. Gene Yaw, whose district includes Williamsport and Lycoming County; Dr. Philip W. Moore from Harrisburg-based Associates in Medical Toxicology; and Amanda Cox, a registered nurse and president and marketing director of Positive Recovery Solutions in Pittsburgh, will join Satalia for the show.
