UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The Penn State Schreyer Honors College will be hosting its 12th annual Connect Networking and Career Day from noon-5 p.m. on Saturday, April 5, in the Forest Resources Building.
Over 50 Scholar alumni from a range of career paths will be returning to mentor current Scholars. During Connect, Scholars will be able to participate in roundtable discussions, hear presentations, and practice their networking skills throughout the day. Scholars will have the opportunity to ask questions about fields they may be interested in and can discover new paths post-graduation.
Connect is sponsored by the David S. Rocchino Family Foundation and is supported by the Scholar Alumni Society Board.
“Our intent with Connect is to bring our Scholars and alumni together to establish and nurture their relationships with each other,” said Matt Ishler, Director of Career Development at Schreyer. “There are tremendous opportunities for learning through sharing curiosity and forming new bonds that we expect will last beyond this event.”
Not only will Scholars be able to network at Connect, but this year also features a new opportunity — a pre-event reception. Scholars and Scholar alumni have the option to gather at the Nittany Lion Inn the evening before, for hors d'oeuvres, mocktails and great conversation.
In addition to roundtable discussions, table talks, and networking opportunities, Scholars can have a free headshot picture taken from noon to 1 p.m. Schreyer Scholars from all colleges and campuses are encouraged to attend and can RSVP online. Questions about the event can be emailed to Schreyer’s career development team at SHCCareerDev@psu.edu.
