UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State’s Schreyer Honors College launched the “Following the Gong” podcast in the fall of 2021 as a way for Scholar alumni to share guidance and advice with current and prospective Schreyer Scholars through their personal stories. This week, the podcast reached a milestone with the release of its 50th episode.

The landmark episode published on Aug. 22 and features a conversation between host Sean Goheen and Penn State Distinguished Alumnus Lou D’Ambrosio.

A partner at Goldman Sachs, D’Ambrosio is a 1986 graduate of the Smeal College of Business with a bachelor of science degree in management. He went on to earn his MBA from Harvard Business School in 1992 and from there took on executive and CEO roles with a number of Fortune 500 companies.

“We are extremely grateful to Lou and all of the Scholar alumni who have made the first 50 episodes of ‘Following the Gong’ possible,” said Goheen. “Each one has offered unique stories and experiences from which our listeners can draw valuable insights.”

Produced by the Schreyer Honors College, “Following the Gong” connects its listeners with Scholar alumni who share lessons and advice gleaned from their time as Scholars and beyond. For each episode, guests sit down with Goheen, a fellow Scholar alumnus, to discuss their journeys from Penn State to the professional world.

“Following the Gong” episodes publish bi-weekly during the spring and fall semesters, and are available on the show’s homepage, Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, Spotify and Amazon Music.

Upcoming episodes will feature guests such as food blogger Jessica Paholsky, supply chain leaders Darren Gibula and Patrick Lucas, entrepreneur Paul Suhey, and law school career services adviser Anna Han.

The full library of past seasons is available for download, and episodes include guests such as Schreyer Honors College Dean Patrick Mather, food scientist Natalie Keller; former Penn State and NFL offensive lineman and Super Bowl champion Stefen Wisniewski and his wife, Hilary; Google engineer Jim Durrell; and more.
