DUNMORE, Pa. — Students at Penn State Scranton now have a new resource to help them gain important financial literacy skills thanks to Penn State’s Sokolov-Miller Family Financial and Life Skills Center. A financial resources information kiosk has been set up in the admissions office in Dawson 5 and is available Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Informational resources are being provided to all University campuses by the center. These resources include several books about making and saving money, being smart with money, and managing debt. Students may take, borrow or keep whichever books they choose. The center hopes that by providing these resources, students will learn to make smart decisions regarding money and set themselves up for future financial success.

Additionally, the center is hosting a series of financial literacy webinars this spring that are available to all Penn State students. The series take place on Tuesdays at noon, with the schedule as follow:

  • Salary Negotiation: Feb. 20
  • Saving and Investing: March 5
  • Money and Relationships: March 19
  • Homebuyer Education: April 2
