DUNMORE, Pa. — Penn State Scranton Chancellor Marwan Wafa has announced that Blair Cutright has joined Penn State Scranton as the campus' new disability and learning services specialist.

In her role, Cutright is set to work with students to provide accommodations for those with documented disabilities, ensuring equal access to education, as well as coordinating test proctoring. Drawing from her background as an academic coach, Cutright plans to employ techniques that focus on understanding students’ strengths and enhancing skills in time management, organization, test preparation and general study skills.

“I am a great listener!” she said, emphasizing her dedication to creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment.

Eager and enthusiastic, Cutright said she is grateful for the warm welcome from the campus community.

“It has been great so far,” Cutright said. “Everyone is very welcoming! I feel blessed to be a member of this wonderful community!”

Despite being in the early stages of her position, she is enjoying getting to know her new colleagues and the students she has connected with. She said she is also very much looking forward to and excited about working with students and collaborating with the Learning and Writing Center.

A first-generation college graduate, Cutright holds bachelor's and master's degrees in exercise science from McDaniel College, in Westminster, Maryland. She was also a student athlete in softball and track and has spent 12 years as a part-time assistant track coach.

Cutright is not only passionate about her work but is also committed to community service.

“I have volunteered with Special Olympics and would love to be involved with that again!” she said.

She resides in Clarks Summit with her husband, daughter and their dog. In her free time, she enjoys activities such as reading, knitting and learning new things.
