UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State Smeal College of Business Dean Charles H. Whiteman recently appointed Jason Borrelli, senior principal for operations at EQT Exeter, to the Smeal Board of Visitors.

EQT Exeter is a leading global real estate investment manager.

Board of Visitors members offer advice to the dean and other Smeal administrators based on their professional experience and knowledge of the latest issues and trends facing the business community.

Whiteman said that Borrelli has been a terrific advocate for students in his role as vice chair of the Real Estate Advisory Board and that he is looking forward to his contributions as a member of the Board of Visitors.

“Jason has made such valuable contributions to the college through his volunteerism and his philanthropy,” Whiteman said. “He is committed to using his success to help others, and I am confident that he’ll work hard with other members of the board to ensure that Penn State is at the forefront of business education.”

Borrelli earned a degree in aerospace engineering from Penn State in 1994 and began his career at the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center. The following year, he joined National Properties Inc., a real-estate investment, property management and development business where he worked in the property management and construction division.

In 2006, Borrelli earned an MBA from Penn State Great Valley, with a focus in entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial studies. That same year, he joined Exeter Property Group LLC. Today, he is senior principal for operations at EQT Exeter.

Borrelli said that he is looking forward to expanding his role with the University and deepening his impact at Smeal with his appointment to the Board of Visitors.

“Smeal is one of the top business schools in the country, and a Smeal education is in high demand. As we look to the future, I think it’s important to ensure that the college has the right resources and infrastructure in place to meet the changing needs of business education,” Borrelli said. “I’m anxious to learn more about Smeal’s strategic imperatives and the role I can play in expanding its high-quality educational and experiential learning opportunities.”

The board meets Nov. 11-12.

The Smeal College of Business Board of Visitors is a nearly 40-member advisory board composed of global business and industry leaders who are Smeal alumni and friends. The complete list of Smeal’s Board of Visitors membership can be found online.
