Penn State Smeal announces fall semester guests for Executive Insights

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Five leading business executives and thought leaders will visit the Penn State Smeal College of Business during the fall semester as part of Executive Insights, the college’s signature speaker series.

Each of the guests will participate in moderated discussions with Charles H. Whiteman, John and Karen Arnold Dean, from 11:15 a.m. to 12:05 p.m. in Struthers Auditorium, 110 Business Building, and via Zoom. The fall lineup includes:

  • Sept. 23: Lori Koch, chief financial officer of DuPont.
  • Sept. 30: Chuck Raup, U.S. president of The Hershey Co.
  • Oct. 21: Henry Ines: CEO and founder of Chainparency.
  • Oct. 28: Scott Lipesky, executive vice president and chief financial officer of Abercrombie & Fitch.
  • Nov. 11: Dana Deasy, senior adviser at Brighton Park Capital and former chief information officer at the U.S. Department of Defense.

Koch has been a finance leader at DuPont for 17 years across a broad spectrum of finance disciplines. She has held leadership roles spanning business units, the science and technology organization, and corporate functions. Most recently, she was head of investor relations and corporate financial planning analysis. Koch holds a master’s degree in accounting from Babson College and a bachelor’s degree in finance and international business from Penn State Smeal. Registration is now open for Koch’s visit.

Raup joined The Hershey Co. in 2009 after spending 13 years at Kraft Foods. Prior to that he served seven years in the United States Navy as a surface warfare officer. Raup now leads Hershey’s flagship U.S. business, where he led the turnaround of the core U.S. business. Before that, he was vice president/general manager, Mexico. Raup earned an MBA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a bachelor’s degree in business logistics from Penn State. Registration is now open for Raup’s visit.

Ines has more than 20 years of experience as a global executive, former venture capital adviser and entrepreneur. Chainparency is a blockchain technology company and developer of the GoTrace system, a 100% turnkey and modular blockchain traceability solution, which helps enterprises and governments to achieve responsible, transparent and fully auditable supply chains. Ines holds an MBA from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business and a bachelor’s degree in finance from Smeal.

Lipesky, in addition to his duties as executive vice president and CFO, serves as principal financial officer and principal accounting officer for Abercrombie & Fitch. He also was CFO at American Signature Inc., a privately held home furnishings company. His experience also includes leadership positions at the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co., FTI Consulting and PwC. Lipesky earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Penn State Smeal.

Prior to joining Brighton Park, Deasy led large complex organizations across multiple industries, including aerospace, automotive, conglomerates, oil and gas, financial services, and government. Most notably, he served as chief information officer for the U.S. Department of Defense. He holds an MBA from National University in San Diego and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Southern California.
