Implementation science seminar slated for March 8

1:00 PM - 3:00 PM / March 28, 2024

The Implementation Science Seminar "Engaging in Implementation Science: What you need to know" will be held at 1 p.m. on March 28 in 217 Smeal Business Building and via Zoom.

The two-hour, interactive event will include a one hour, hybrid seminar that will describe the foundations of implementation science, such as terminology, conceptual models and frameworks, study design or implementation strategies. During the second hour, there will be a practice activity for in-person attendees. The activity will provide opportunities for participants to formulate practical implementation science questions that can be applied to health policy and social science research.

The seminar will be presented by Erika Crable, co-director of Health Services Research and Health Policy Research Program at the University of California, San Diego Herbert Wertheim School of Public Health. Crable is an implementation scientist whose research focuses on health policy, comorbid substance use and mental illness, and health equity for publicly insured, uninsured and underinsured populations.

This event will be jointly hosted by the Penn State Clinical and Translational Science Institute and the Social Science Research Institute.
