Abington says farewell to several employees

Four longtime Penn State Abington employees have recently retired:

-- Sandra M. McKee worked for 35-plus years in career development, adult counseling, nursing and the Division of Undergraduate Students. She is a Penn State alumna starting with her associate degree in ELAS at Penn State Abington and then graduating in the spring of 1986. Faculty, staff and students sought her expertise and ability to break down complicated issues and policies into user-friendly explanations.

-- Annette Caruso, assistant professor of biobehavioral health, retired from the University on June 30 after 35 years of service. She taught courses in health education at Abington, and she was very involved in governance activities at the local and all-University level. She has served on the University Senate, was an elected member of the Faculty Rights and Responsibilities Committee and was ombudsperson at Abington for many years. She expects to enjoy retirement by devoting more time to her gardening, gourmet cooking and travel.

-- Steven Petkov, instructor of political science, retired from the University on June 30 after 38 years of service. He taught courses in American national government and comparative politics at Abington. In addition to reading and following baseball, retirement will allow him to spend more time playing and enjoying diverse forms of music.

-- David Milby, associate professor of visual and integrative arts at Abington College, retired from the University on June 30 after nearly 40 years of service. He taught courses in painting, drawing, art education and art history. He looks forward to working on a new series of paintings, completing a writing project and traveling to art collections.
