The Administrative Fellows Program, a joint program of the Office of the President and the Commission for Women, is seeking applications for the 2022-23 academic year. The program provides professional development opportunities for faculty and staff.
By serving under the mentorship of a senior level administrator for the academic year, fellows who are seeking the background necessary to compete at higher levels of administration will have an opportunity to broaden their perspectives and experience.
One of the mentors for 2022-23 program recently changed. Damon Sims, vice president for Student Affairs, will replace mentor Lorraine Goffe, vice president for Human Resources and chief human resources officer. Also serving as mentors for 2022-23 are Nicholas Jones, executive vice president and provost, and Yvonne Gaudelius, vice president and dean for Undergraduate Education.
The deadline to submit applications is Thursday, Jan. 27, and candidates must be tenure-line or nontenure-line faculty who have held appointments of five years or longer or regular staff employees who have held appointments of five years or longer. Candidates should demonstrate success in their current positions and have an interest in an administrative career; demonstrate evidence of leadership experience and decision-making ability; have the ability to relate effectively to students, faculty and staff; exhibit a commitment to diversity; and have a willingness to accept a wide variety of assignments.
Qualified candidates from all University campuses are strongly urged to apply. The starting dates of each fellowship will vary depending on the mentor’s office and the fellow’s commitments. Applications and additional information are available online here. Direct any questions to the Office of the Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs at vpfa@psu.edu.
