— Bernard Badiali, professor in charge of the Curriculum and Supervision program, and Rebecca West Burns, assistant professor of elementary education in the Department of Teaching and Learning at the University of South Florida and 2012 doctoral alumna in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction, authored "Unearthing the Complexities of Clinical Pedagogy in Supervision: Identifying the Pedagogical Skills of Supervisors," which appears in the summer 2016 edition of Action in Teacher Education.
— Research published through the college’s new Center for Education and Civic Rights recently was cited in an article published on The Nation.
— Joey Fleck, instructor of workforce education (WFED) and coordinator of competency-based teacher education for the Professional Personnel Development Center for Career and Technical Education, and Charles Warren, a master’s student in WFED, recently spoke with Pennsylvania’s Association for Career and Technical Education (ACTE) about motivation strategies in CTE classrooms. Jane Brooker, a doctoral student studying WFED, also spoke with ACTE about teaching mindfulness in CTE classrooms.
— Professor of Special Education Charles Hughes, along with 2015 alumna Lauren Foxworth and Linda Mason of SUNY Old Westbury, recently published "Improving Narrative Writing Skills of Secondary Students with Disabilities Using Strategy Instruction" in Exceptionality.
— Elizabeth Hughes, assistant professor of special education, has published “Supporting Clear and Concise Mathematics Language: Instead of That, Say This” in TEACHING Exceptional Children.
— Kevin Kinser, professor of education and department head of Education Policy Studies, recently was quoted in an article appearing on Times Higher Education.
— Kai Schafft, associate professor of educational leadership and rural sociology, has been awarded the Brzezinski Award for an outstanding career in rural research by the National Rural Education Association. Two of Schafft’s former dissertation advisees — Erin McHenry-Sorber and Daniella Hall — also were recognized with the Outstanding Research Award.
