College announces student scholarships

The College of Education’s scholarship committee is now accepting applications for College-specific scholarships available for the 2016-17 academic year. Currently enrolled undergraduate and graduate students, and those who have secured their enrollment in the College of Education for the 2016-17 academic year, are eligible to apply. College to host basketball game event

The College of Education will host a Penn State basketball event for faculty, staff and students at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 17. Tickets are $12 for adults, $6 for student and children 12 and under. Register online at bit.ly/1SOS1BM before the Jan. 22 deadline. Tickets will be available for pick up on Feb. 1 in 247 Chamber Building.

Fellowships available for social studies education majors

Penn State students studying secondary social studies education are eligible to apply for the James Madison Fellowship through the University Fellowships Office. Sponsored by the James Madison Memorial Fellowship Foundation, the award offers $24,000 fellowships to individuals training to be teachers of the U.S. Constitution at the secondary school level. Nominations for annual awards program now open

The College of Education is now accepting nominations for its 2015-16 Faculty, Staff and Student awards program. Nominations may be submitted until the Feb. 26 deadline. Winners will be announced in mid-March and a reception honoring the awardees will be held on April 19.
