This has certainly been a year to remember!
Our emotions went from frightened to anxious to depressed to acceptance ... and then back to frightened again. Every single person in our community has had to dig down deep to find something within themselves to help them cope with the situation at hand.
For the staff of the Schreyer Honors College, that “something” ranged from learning to work remotely — often while teaching young children at the same time — managing isolation, participating in wellness activities, and creating balance at home. Through all of this, our staff has remained focused on the most important thing we do — support our Scholars.
This is certainly a difficult time to be a college student, but our staff never wavered on assuring that students were engaged, mentored by peers and alumni, learning from faculty and students in both near and far-away places, and making solid progress toward their honors theses.
I am so glad to have the opportunity to work with this exceptional staff. They are the best, bar none.
— Peggy A. Johnson, dean of the Schreyer Honors College
