Penn State's Zeta Eta chapter or Kappa Alpha Order, 234 E. Beaver Ave., was recognized with two awards from their national office on Feb. 25 at a national meeting of their organization in Lexington, Va. Members also took part in training sessions and leadership development programs throughout the day in addition to touring historic Lexington and Washington and Lee University.
For their participation in many philanthropic events throughout the past year the chapter received Kappa Alpha's Project Outreach award, recognizing them for most dollars earned per man and the most hours per man out of 136 chapters nationwide.
The chapter also won the first ever Carl B. Albert Award for the Most Improved Chapter in the Kappa Alpha Order. This award recognizes the chapter in the order whose leadership, focus and potential capture the true meaning of the Kappa Alpha Order. This award recognizes chapters as they strive to go "onward, upward -- higher, higher."
