New leadership program for faculty now accepting applications

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The Office of the Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs and Penn State Human Resources is now accepting applications for the Penn State Emerging Academic Leaders (PSEAL) program.

The program includes instructor-led seminars, mentorship, and self-directed learning activities, culminating in a personal leadership philosophy statement and development action plan. Mentorship is a key aspect of the program with participants mentored by experienced academic leaders while mentoring others through the New Faculty Network program.

Eligible participants are full-time tenured or non-tenure-track faculty members who have been promoted to the second rank who are not currently academic administrators, or who have less than two years of experience in that role.

Applications will be accepted Feb. 16 through March 3, 2023. The program will run in the fall semester on Friday afternoons between 2 and 5 p.m.
