Penn State Delaware County has hired two new professors for the fall: Raed Elaydi, assistant professor of business, and Timothy Lawlor, assistant professor of physics.
According to George Franz, director of Academic Affairs, the new hires are a great fit for the campus' needs. "We had a couple of positions to fill, and in Raed and Tim we've got a pair of professors who are very knowledgeable and well-regarded in their respective fields of study," he said.
Elaydi comes to Penn State Delaware County from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he was an assistant professor. He earned his bachelor of business administration degree from the University of Southern California; his master of accounting from Trinity University; and his doctorate in management from Texas A&M.
Lawlor most recently was teaching at the Penn State Wilkes-Barre campus, where he also was director of the school's observatory. At Penn State Delaware County, he will teach physics and astronomy. Lawlor has a bachelor of mathematics degree from Penn State and a bachelor of physics degree from East Stroudsburg University; a master of physics from Wichita State; and a doctorate in physics from University of Delaware.
