UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State Transportation Services has announced RIDEpass program details for the spring 2022 semester and the 2022-23 academic year.
The RIDEpass program provides access to all CATABUS routes to eligible University Park faculty, staff and graduate students. Transportation Services' goal is to offer the RIDEpass program at the lowest possible cost to participants while also maintaining the program’s long-term viability. Transportation Services continues to support RIDEpass by covering approximately 70% of the program costs. CATA currently offers mass transit passes for $68 per month.
Spring 2022 RIDEpass program
Applications for the spring 2022 RIDEpass program will be available online beginning Saturday, Dec. 4. Rates will remain $21 per month, and passes will be valid through Tuesday, May 31. A new application must be completed for the spring semester, including by those who possess a current RIDEpass. No changes will be made to current program eligibility requirements.
For those renewing their fall 2022 RIDEpass, spring pass exchange will be available beginning Monday, Dec. 13. Pass pickup for new participants and any current RIDEpass members who have lost their pass will begin Monday, Jan. 3.
The final day to apply for and pick up a fall 2021 RIDEpass will be Friday, Dec. 3. Fall 2021 passes expire Friday, Dec. 31.
2022-23 RIDEpass program
RIDEpass rates and eligibility requirements will remain unchanged for the 2022-23 program year set to begin June 1. Application details will be announced before the end of the spring semester.
