As part of our regular "We Are!" feature, we recognize six Penn Staters who have gone above and beyond what's asked of them in their work at the University. Do you know someone who deserves a shout-out? If you do, consider taking a minute to nominate that person by filling out a short online form.

This week, we'd like say thank you on behalf of the entire University community to:

Kim Fox of the College of Engineering, whose nominator wrote: "Kim works so hard and also manages to keep the atmosphere upbeat, fun and positive! Although, she's been working on a project for two-plus years she continues to do her actual job and do it well. She's very well respected by her team, peers and the students!"

Bobbi Caprice and Jeff Scarpone of Penn State Brandywine, whose nominator wrote: "Bobbi and Jeff of Penn State Brandywine's Athletic Department work tirelessly to ensure our student-athletics have a great experience academically and on their teams. They build a sense of community and offer their support to the campus in many ways beyond athletics."

Lauren Kooistra of the Humanities Institute at Penn State, whose nominator wrote: "I appreciated how well she treated me, how instilled confidence in me and had fun on the job. We worked well together in solving issues. She created a wonderful work environment. I never felt more of a team and something special, that my ideas were listened to and that we made each other better."

Carmen Herschell of World Campus, whose nominator wrote: "Carmen continually goes above and beyond to assist staff and students from other campuses. She is a fantastic asset to the University. We appreciate her willingness to always help."

Debbie Hoch of Penn State New Kensington, whose nominator wrote: "We’re blessed at Penn State New Kensington with many staff members who go the extra mile, and in the midst of that crowded field, Debbie Hoch stands out for a number of reasons. Debbie manages to deal with a wide range of challenges and always does so in a professional and cheerful manner."

Keith Jedlowski of Penn State New Kensington, whose nominator wrote: "Keith had to redo all of our Engineering Lab computers this summer, and he was especially patient and efficient in getting them all up and running for the Fall Semester. He went above and beyond to get new and updated software sorted out for us."

Thank you Kim, Bobbi, Jeff, Lauren, Carmen, Debbie Keith — and to everyone who helps make Penn State such an incredible community. We Are!
