UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — This week, we recognize seven Penn Staters who go above and beyond what's asked of them in their work at the University. Thank you to:

Roxana Gearhart, a lecturer in the College of the Liberal Arts, whose nominator wrote that Gearhart is an instructor who "truly cares about her students. Roxana will go the extra mile to make classes fun and practical."

Gina Kaufman, Tracy Reed and Marcia Delia, at Penn State Abington, whose nominator wrote: "Gina, Tracy and Marcia provide so many interesting and valuable learning opportunities for Penn State Abington students. Through their programming, support for campus clubs and the many leadership opportunities they provide, Gina, Tracy and Marcia provide students with valuable learning experiences."

Charity Pavlesich, at Penn State Hershey, whose nominator wrote: "She is always helpful and thoughtful. (When I was) a newbie, she would alert me to meetings, pick up when ever I called in a panic, invite me to lunches and the list goes on and on. She sent me welcome flowers and checked in every day for the first month."

Jonathan Becksvoort, with Residence Life, whose nominator wrote: "Jon Becksvoort is a coordinator in East Halls, and he is truly dedicated to working with his residents. Jon loves playing games (board games, card games) and he will sit in the lobby and invite his residents to play so he can connect with them on a different level. Kudos to Jon!"

Matthew Wensel, in Auxiliary and Business Services, whose nominator wrote: "Matt's attitude day in and day out is an exceptional example of our Penn State values! He takes great pride in his work and is incredibly committed to the success of his department!"

Do you know someone who deserves a shout-out? If you do, consider taking a minute to nominate that person by filling out a short online form. For more information about the process, visit the "We Are!" guidelines
