University Libraries: Thank you for your support and extraordinary contributions

To the employees of Penn State University Libraries and Penn State University Press at all our locations University-wide, thank you for your extraordinary contributions of academic and research support to Penn State students, faculty, staff, alumni and community members.

You have had to make several swift and significant changes to work processes, and you have done this work with commitment, patience and excellent customer service, even as you have had to manage your own personal and family concerns during the COVID-19 pandemic.

From those on the front line of our service points, who developed and implemented those processes and continue to provide service to our users through curbside delivery, Interlibrary Loan requests, and virtual and in-person instruction sessions; to those who process purchases and subscriptions of physical and digital resources, and catalog, mail and (re)shelve items, as well as do other important work behind the scenes; to those who keep our spaces safe for our many users as well as our coworkers, from even before the moment we open our doors to the end of each day — all of you are the heart of our academic research support operations.

Penn State has been able to continue teaching, learning, and researching in no small part because of each of you.
