This week's top stories from across Penn State:

CLASS GIFT: Penn State University Libraries' Textbook and Educational Resource Fund was named a finalist for the Penn State 2018 Class Gift campaign. Voting for the class gift concludes on Oct. 13.

VALUES AND CULTURE SURVEY: Penn State employees are encouraged to complete the University Values and Culture Survey.

HELPING PUERTO RICO: Puerto Rican students at Penn State Greater Allegheny are spearheading a collection for Hurricane Maria victims.

NEW SECURITY CENTER: Penn State has established the Center for Security Research and Education, which incorporates expertise from ten academic colleges, schools and research units.

TOWN HALL SURVEY: Employees are encouraged to share feedback on the University's recent Town Hall through a survey.

MARKET EAST: The newly renovated East Food District, located in Findlay Dining Commons at University Park, is a busy place every day of the week. One particularly popular spot is Market East, an urban-style "neighborhood market" where students can stop by for a quick snack or meal, fresh ingredients to prepare a meal, a frozen treat or personal-care items.

END-OF-LIFE CARE: Playing a game designed to spur conversation about end-of-life care may lead players to go on to make advance care plans, according to researchers.
